Abayas

These are abaya-cut pieces rather than traditional abayas. The silhouette is familiar; the styling sits closer to contemporary outerwear than to formal black.

They are made to be worn as the outfit rather than over one. Paired with matching trousers or worn open across a set, an abaya-cut piece does the same job as a coat does elsewhere: it finishes what is underneath and it means you can leave the house without a second thought.

Colour matters here. A traditional abaya is usually black by default; ours are black when black is right and something else when it is not. All of it works within the same range, so nothing sits awkwardly against anything else.

Abaya or abaya-cut?

A traditional abaya is an overgarment worn on top of what you are already wearing. Abaya-cut borrows the shape and proportions but is designed as the outfit itself. If you want something to throw over jeans, either works. If you want one piece to walk out in, this is the section.
